Back in the early 1900’s, there was an amusement park right in the Oakland area of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania known as Luna Park. One fateful day, the lion Prince escaped his cage from the menagerie in the park and mauled a poor unfortunate woman named Anna Hench. She did not survive her injuries.
I was honored that this painting was awarded First Place at PSI’s Art of Facts exhibit at the Heinz History Center, 2017. It accompanied the miniature “Shhh… Live Infants!”, Luna’s Incubator Exhibit.
